Our first coffee for kWh customers. An espresso-style roast that works perfectly for espresso, cafetière or moka pot.

Origin

Colombia · Huila

Roast

Medium-dark, espresso style (dark roast available on request)

Tasting notes

Panela (brown sugar cane), caramel, citrus

Best for

Espresso · Cafetière · Moka pot

We're really excited to bring our first coffee to kWh customers. This is an espresso-style roast which works perfectly for espresso, cafetière or moka pot.

The story from the producer, Majestic Coffee: If you think washed Colombian coffees from Huila are pretty much the same, then you're mistaken. This is an absolutely different and amazing profile but yet maintaining the basic attributes of a coffee from Huila. This blend of Caturra and Colombia is very sweet, it has notes of panela (brown sugar cane), caramel, citrus, a medium body, a very bright sweet acidity.

Andrés produces this coffee sustainably, holding the Rainforest certification. Maybe this coffee is so distinctive and loved as the result of the professional process done by Andrés, combined with the fact of being located at 2,000 masl in unusually fertile lands fertilized by nature, with an utopic abundance of water, and right in front of the snowy mountain of Huila.

Classic Brazilian profile: smooth, consistent, dependable

Best for

Espresso · Filter · All-rounder

Eagle Monte Carmelo is our take on a classic profile from a classic region: the Cerrado Mineiro. Our goal with this coffee is to have a consistent profile from lot to lot, and year to year, making this a coffee that you can rely on year-round.

This lot was sourced as part of the Café Delas Program. Café Delas was created to help women farmers access the resources, knowledge and voice they need to grow their operations to the fullest potential. Every Café Delas coffee is sourced 100% from women farmers and for every sale, a portion of the profit is reinvested in programs that promote gender equality and empower women in the field.

The Region: Coffee was first cultivated in Cerrado Mineiro in the 1970s by farmers from Paraná and São Paulo. The region's relatively flat landscape makes harvesting far more efficient than in more rugged terrain, and a dry climate during harvest allows for a consistent drying process. Covering 55 municipalities, it achieved Denomination of Origin status in 2013, the first region in the country to receive this recognition.

Farmhouse nestled in the coffee-growing mountains of Huila and Tolima, Colombia

Colombia Decaf: El Buho (The Owl)

A washed sugarcane (Ethyl Acetate) decaf from the Huila and Tolima regions of Colombia. A gentle process that keeps the coffee’s full character.

Origin

Colombia · Huila & Tolima

Roast

Medium roast

Tasting notes

Full flavour, all the characteristics, none of the caffeine

Best for

Espresso · Filter · Cafetière

El Buho (The Owl) is a washed sugarcane, or Ethyl Acetate, decaf coffee sourced from farmers in the Huila and Tolima regions of Colombia.

The Process: Ethyl Acetate decaffeination, commonly called the "sugarcane" method, combines high mountain spring water and Ethyl Acetate (EA) of natural origin. EA is present in every coffee cherry in its natural state, as well as in many other fruits and vegetables. The natural EA is obtained from a sugar cane-based process and is, together with spring water, the only other element which comes into contact with the coffee.

First the beans are steamed to open their pores, then rinsed with Ethyl Acetate repeatedly to remove the caffeine. They are then dried to a 10–12% humidity and sealed with a natural wax which has a neutral profile that does not affect the flavour or aroma. This water-EA process allows for gentle extraction of the caffeine, avoiding excessive heat or pressure, maintaining the natural structure and all characteristics of the coffee bean.

Wholesale FAQs

The questions we get asked most by cafés, kitchens and offices.

Do you have a minimum order for wholesale coffee?

No. There is no minimum contract and no minimum order. Most cafés start with a few kilos a week and scale from there. Volume pricing kicks in as you grow.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver by electric van across York and North Yorkshire, and by tracked courier to the rest of the UK. Orders are roasted to order and usually dispatched within the week.

How do I see your wholesale prices?

Leave your name, business and email in the form on this page and the trade price list appears immediately. You can also email hello@kwhcoffee.com and we will send pricing over along with a password for this page.

Do you offer barista training and equipment?

Yes. Barista training on your own setup is included with wholesale accounts. We can also specify, source, install and service espresso machines, grinders and filtration.

Can you provide carbon data for our sustainability reporting?

Yes. Because we roast entirely on electricity and measure what we use, we can give you supplier-specific, per-kilo Scope 3 figures for the coffee you buy, plus a disclosure paragraph you can use in reporting.

Can we get a custom blend or private label?

We can develop a house blend to your brief and offer custom branded packaging for accounts. Get in touch with what you have in mind.
