Our Story
kWh started with a simple observation, everyone loves great coffee, but specialty coffee could be more accessible and sustainable. Great coffee was being kept behind complicated brewing guides and prices that make it feel exclusive rather than inclusive.
We wanted to change that. We can bring great coffee to everyone at good prices, by working directly with producers and small, knowledgeable importers; using sustainable practices that increase simplicity; and by delivering our coffee on a mobile setup to locations where it isn't otherwise available. We're taking everything we love about specialty coffee, the quality, the traceability, the craft, and make it accessible to everyone. Whether you're someone who just wants their morning cup of coffee to taste great or a coffee nerd, we've got a product for you.
Based in York's Raylor Centre, we've invested in roasting on an electric Bellwether roaster, one of the highest quality and most sustainable roasting methods available. Better for the planet, better for producers, better for you.

Electric Roasting
Our Bellwether roaster runs entirely on renewable electricity. Traditional gas roasters produce significant CO2. Ours produces zero emissions at the point of roasting.
